Supervising Physician - Physician Services


Responsibilities and Duties:

The physician shall supervise mid-level providers at the Clinic in accordance with applicable law and the policies and procedures of the Company and the Clinic. Such supervisory services shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Providing appropriate mid-level practitioner supervision at assigned clinics. Approximately 20 clinic locations would be assigned.
  • Providing in-person supervisory services at each assigned Clinic at least once per month (for approximately one hour or more) and provide documentation to Company of all visits.
  • Co-signing at least twenty-percent (20%) of charts within thirty (30) days of patient visits.
  • Personally reviewing the historical, physical and therapeutic data every ten (10) business days and certify such review by signature within thirty (30) days in the following circumstances: when medically indicated, when requested by the Provider, when prescriptions written by the mid-level practitioner fall outside of the protocol, when prescriptions are written by a mid-level practitioner who possesses a temporary certificate of fitness, and when a controlled drug has been prescribed.
  • Maintaining remote access to Company s Electronic Medical Records ( EMR ) system.
  • Remain available for clinical questions from Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants during all clinical hours.
  • Identifying and arranging for a qualified physician substitute/coverage in the event Physician is not available to perform the Services.
  • Notifying the assigned Clinic of any changes in call or supervision coverage whenever Physician requests coverage from Medical Director or another qualified supervising physician.
  • Periodically providing substitute supervision for other supervising physicians of the Company at their request.
  • Keep the Chief Medical Officer informed of any shift coverage changes or alterations.
  • Remaining knowledgeable of organization protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • While not required to have patient visits in the Clinic, Physician may schedule Clinic hours as an urgent care provider or for primary care visit with approval by the Chief Medical Officer
  • Participate in teaching/discussions at Fast Pace Academy when new Providers start employment with Fast Pace Urgent Care.
  • Attend grand openings of any new clinic opened with the assigned region.
  • Participate in remediation/education with Providers as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic medical records is required. Also required proficiency with various computer-based applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; facilitates problem resolution and maintains a professional demeanor in difficult situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Medical knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health measures.

Education/ Certification Requirements

  • License as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in the appropriate state
  • A valid, unrestricted DEA certificate
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Dual Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
